About
A working harbour at four in the morning: one lamp, a wet deck, and whatever came up. That is the evening this template describes, and it describes it well enough that the next paragraph matters more than this one.
Every operational fact about the business — its legal name, where it trades, who runs it, when it opens — is outstanding. The prose below describes a fictional ${BRAND.kind} and says so.
Each outstanding fact is marked below. This notice is configuration rather than copy: it is driven by NEXT_PUBLIC_LEGAL_REVIEWED, and npm run legalcheck reads the served page and refuses when the two disagree. Removing this markup by hand does not clear the review.
What you are looking at
$Meridian Brokerage is a fictional $residential real-estate brokerage, created as a demonstration of this template. The name, the menu, the sourcing ledger and the room do not describe a real business.
$Meridian Brokerage is a website template. The restaurant on the front page has no premises, no kitchen and no telephone, and this page will not pretend otherwise in order to look finished. Everything below that reads like a business fact is marked as one the operator has to supply.
The room, as written
The direction is a single low lamp over a dark table, and a palette that gets its only warmth from that lamp. Depth is the argument: the front page is built as planes moving at different rates over one another, so that scrolling it feels like descending rather than paging.
The menu, the sourcing ledger and the room described on the front page are written to demonstrate that direction. The figures in the ledger — fathoms, distances, an hour, a temperature, a tide — are set dressing. They are not certifications and there is no body standing behind them.
What is actually true here
These are facts about the template, and each can be checked against the repository rather than taken on trust.
- Twelve photographs were generated for this direction and are licensed for commercial use. The per-file record is in
public/assets/credits.json, and the front page’s colophon reads from it. - The type is Bodoni Moda, Archivo and IBM Plex Mono, all three under the SIL Open Font License.
- No form on this site sends anything. The reservation form on the front page and the message form on Contact both say so in their own status regions rather than showing a success state they cannot deliver.
- The site is English-only, and there is no analytics script anywhere in its source. What the hosting layer does is a separate question and is covered on Privacy.
What the operator has to supply
Nine facts about the business are missing, and none of them can be guessed from the design. Until they are filled in, this page is a demonstration of a layout and not a description of anyone.
